The great winner of this year’s Odra River Cup is the rowing team RTW Lotto Bydgostia. The rowing eight from Torun claimed the second place and Wrocław University of Technology came third. Spectators, who gathered at the banks of Odra River at Wrocław University of Technology, also saw entertaining races of dragon boats and women eights’ competition.

In this year’s races, 15 rowing teams took part. Wrocław hosted oarsmen from Technical University Ostrava (Czech Republic), Deutscher Ruder-Club von 1884 e.V. Hannover (Germany), Molndals Roddklubb (Sweden), as well as rowing eights from AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, Jagiellonian University, University of Warsaw, Maritime University of Szczecin, University of Wrocław, AZS Toruń, and Lotto Bydgostia. Two rowing eights from Wrocław University of Technology also took apart in the races.

After qualifications, the first place belonged to RTW Lotto Bydgostia with 3:54,30 and the following to : AZS UMK Energa Toruń 4:06,51, Wrocław University of Technology (the first rowing team) 4:16,04, AGH University of Science and Technology 4:29,50, Deutscher Ruder-Club von 1884 e.V. Hannover 4:30,53, Jagiellonian University 4:38,69, Technical University Ostrava 4:40,01, University of Wrocław 4:41,98, Maritime University of Szczecin 4:43,14, University of Warsaw 4:54,37 and Wrocław University of Technology (the second rowing team) 5:02,65.

Winners of Final A were oarsmen from RTW Lotto Bydgostia (with the finishing time of 2:34,48), beating AZS UMK Energa Toruń (their time – 2:44,33).
In Final B the first rowing team of Wrocław University of Technology beat AGH Kraków, claiming third place in the whole competition.

In the women’s competition, rowing teams from University of Warsaw, Maritime Academy of Szczecin and the united forces of University of Wrocław and Wrocław University of Technology took part. The host team won (time 3:42,00). Second place was claimed by Maritime Academy of Szczecin (4:12,89), and third by University of Warsaw (4:13,73).

The Odra river also hosted the races of dragon boats. Nine rowing teams took part in the races. The winners were AZS AGH Kraków. The following places were taken by judo unit PWr, climbing unit+hand ball unit, the employees of the Department of Physical Education and Sport PWr, rugby unit, men’s volleyball unit + aerobics, swimming, cross-country running and horse riding.

It the races of dragon boats participated also… volleyball women players. Odra river witnessed the competition between Impel Volleyball Woman team and PWr Volleyball Woman Team. The hosts proved better than Impel team. It was a close-run race – PWr girls finishing time was 0:58,00, their opponents’ time was 0:58,90.
